Kerry Logistics Launches Hybrid Electric Vehicles in Hong Kong
20 May, 2013, Hong Kong - Kerry Logistics, a leading global logistics service provider, has deployed three hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), as part of its green initiatives across the globe. Kerry Logistics participated in the first phase of the Pilot Green Transport Fund (PGTF) scheme backed by the Hong Kong Government, which is focused on trials for medium-sized HEVs.
Virgin Atlantic Cargo Stands Firm With £230 Million Revenues In ‘Challenging Market’
Virgin Atlantic Cargo today reported revenues for the 2012/13 financial year of £230 million and thanked customers around the world for their support, which ensured the airline performed well in a global market that showed decline. After two years of record growth, Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s results in the last financial year were virtually on a par with its best-ever figures, reported in 2011/12. The airline carried 214,737 tonnes in 2012/13, -0.91% lower year-on-year. This compares favourably with the average overall industry decline of -4.5%.
Volga-Dnepr Commences Major Project To Natural Gas Field In Papua New Guinea
Volga-Dnepr Airlines has commenced a major air logistics contract to operate AN-124-100 freighter flights carrying equipment to a new natural gas field in Papua New Guinea. The airline completed its first flight from Port Moresby to Komo in Papua New Guinea on May 3rd 2013 in support of the new gas conditioning plant being built by CB&I on behalf of Exxon Mobil.

All proposals of the Board of Directors were approved by a clear majority. Peter Ulber made his first public appearance as Panalpina’s designated CEO. 3PL News NVO Update - Ranking of Top 100 NVOs in April 2013 by TEUs
The top 100 NVOs in the United States saw a strong rebound from March’s unusually low numbers. Inbound TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) for the top 100 increased by 33% from March, but decreased nearly 5% from last April. The increase is attributed to a return to normal production in China after their New Year festivities. The majority of NVOs saw an increase in inbound TEUs from March, but a number of NVOs saw big dips from last April. Apex Shipping, Orient Express, Phoenix International, and Danmar Lines all posted dips in imports by over 10% compared to last April. Expeditors and Blue Anchor Line, the top NVOs respectively, increased imports by about 5% from last year. >>
