AirBridgeCargo Airlines delivers food supplies to ISAF personnel in Afghanistan

Volga-Dnepr Group has transported 100 tonnes of food supplies to International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) personnel in Afghanistan using one of AirBridgeCargo Airlines’ Boeing 747 cargo aircraft.

The flight from Riga, Latvia, to Bagram was the first flight by ABC to be operated within this project and was performed on behalf of American Supreme Food Supply via National Air Cargo. The perishables cargo arrived in Riga from the United States in refrigerated sea containers and onboard scheduled airline flights. Cargo was presented in special temperature controlled containers.

    The top 100 NVOs in the United States saw a strong rebound from March’s unusually low numbers. Inbound TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) for the top 100 increased by 33% from March, but decreased nearly 5% from last April. The increase is attributed to a return to normal production in China after their New Year festivities. The majority of NVOs saw an increase in inbound TEUs from March, but a number of NVOs saw big dips from last April. Apex Shipping, Orient Express, Phoenix International, and Danmar Lines all posted dips in imports by over 10% compared to last April.
